Pandanus...... The Path to Peace

Pandanus was founded by Vietnam veterans for present and future veterans. The Pandanus logo is taken from the three red stripes on the Vietnam Veterans’ Service Ribbon. These stripes occur more frequently the closer you get to Pandanus Park.

You travel for days, skirting civilisation,
initially sorting out last minute ‘real world’ details
before you move out of range…
heading for the path to peace…
Feeling the anticipation quietly brewing inside of you…
Wondering if you really have time for this…
Wondering what your gut knows that you don’t…

You follow those three red stripes…
Musing on what’s ahead…
memories of past years mingling with the now…
And gradually, imperceptibly,
that inimitable Australian Bush Magic seeps into you...
calming, rebalancing, drawing you ever northward…

North on The Path to Peace…

You see discreet stickers on signs, three painted red stripes on roads and gates,
all leading you north….

North to Pandanus Healing...

Not just for veterans, their wives who are their carers also need rehabilitation and retreat. Just as the veterans share and learn new coping skills from each other, so do their partners. Without their support many veterans would not have survived this well, or this long.
